7/24/18 It’s been a week since I have started the consumption creation time keeping exercise, here are some of my thoughts: PROS: I have done more than I ever have in a long time. For one thing, I have started to produce electronic music again and, of course, I have been blogging (make blog drafts that is). CONS: Everything is a numbers game now. Perhaps it is just needing adjusting by I do feel guilty and stop myself when I am about to do something like aimlessly surf the internet or social media. Observations: It is difficult with gray area tasks. For instance, I have a lot of time that I have spent at work the last couple of weeks, this counts as “creativity” but it is not creativity for myself. I have to figure out a way to balance my productivity and feeding my soul with being seen as accomplished at work and such a layer is beyond the ability of the experiment. Another thing that gets me every time is false “edutainment” (e.g. I will just rest and listen to Harry Potter in Spanish) this is NOT creation, this is barely even value-added education, this is Entertainment. Things to focus on: Having theme projects for my creativity, going toward a unified goal Focus on creating before consumption (adding to the bank before taking out) Try to diversify creativity Practice daily creation
